PROFESSIONAL BIO
I am a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families in the Philadelphia area heal and thrive. I specialize in trauma recovery, including childhood abuse, sexual trauma, domestic violence, developmental trauma, and the long-term impacts of growing up in homes affected by parental substance abuse.
My work also supports clients navigating identity, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, body image, self-esteem, creativity, and relationship challenges. Whether working with individuals or couples, My goal is to provide a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can deepen awareness, process pain, and move toward more authentic connection.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Experience shaped by advocacy, education, and community care
My professional background includes serving as an adjunct graduate professor, the former Director of Counseling at Women Organized Against Rape, a therapist at The Women’s Therapy Center and an adolescent specialist at the Youth Health Empowerment Project. These experiences have shaped my deep understanding of trauma, sexual violence, adolescent development, identity, family systems, and community-based healing.
LIFE STORY
A lifelong commitment to identity, culture, and belonging
Growing up in a multiracial family with adopted siblings sparked my lifelong commitment to exploring identity, race, culture, gender, and belonging. This personal history continues to shape my socially conscious practice and my sensitivity to the ways family, culture, society, and systems influence how people understand themselves.
My work honors the full complexity of each person's story, including the impact of family messages, societal expectations, trauma, attachment, race, gender, sexuality, body image, and culture.
"Therapy is a collaborative space to understand your story, reconnect with your body, and build new possibilities for how you relate to yourself and others."

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
An integrative approach shaped around you
Every person's path is unique. I use an integrative therapy approach tailored to each client's needs, blending relational, trauma-informed, somatic, and evidence-based modalities.
Gestalt Therapy
A relational approach that helps clients slow down, become more present, and notice the connection between emotions, body sensations, and what is happening in the moment.
Attachment-Based
Attachment-Based Therapeutic approach explores how early relationships shape current patterns of trust, intimacy, self-protection, connection, and emotional safety.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing can support trauma processing and help clients work through painful memories and nervous system responses.
CBT & Mindfulness
I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and practical emotional regulation tools to support clients in daily life.
IFS
IFS, Internal Family Systems, supports parts work, inner child work, and a deeper understanding of the different parts of self that may carry pain, protection, fear, shame, or resilience.
Somatic Awareness
I bring attention to how unresolved trauma and emotions are often stored and felt in the body. I support clients in noticing and connecting with body-based signals as part of healing.
PERSONAL LENS
Creativity, humanity, and the many layers of a life
Outside the therapy room, I am a mom, musician, and mosaic artist who loves traveling, learning about history, spending time at the beach, and taking on house projects. I bring this creative and holistic lens to my clinical work, honoring the unique, multifaceted story that makes each client who they are.
